Final weeks of before-school month
How are these last weeks of before-school time going for everyone? Each year, it seems the summer goes by faster and faster. I'm only just now cleaning out the rest of papers still in the bottom of my daughter's backpack. I feel like summer hasn't really begun.
What are you talking about school started here yesterday. They get in a big hurry around here to get it started. Each year the children go back earlier and earlier. They don't have a summer anymore.

I live in KY. The county I live in started Aug 6 and another county close by started school on Aug 7. Like I said it gets earlier every year.

Wow. I had no idea any school in the US started that early. Here in NY, we have so many days off from school during the school year, it's ridiculous. The kids have 180 school days--half days count as a school day. They're now taking five days, instead of four, for Thanksgiving, and never mind parent/teacher days and all the other stuff thta gets kids out of school.

This year they had about two months for summer break. They also have a fall break and a spring break that last about a week. If they have many snow days they will loose part of that. They also get out early on some Wed. for teacher meetings but it is about 1:00 and it is counted as a full day.

Im so glad I dont have school any more it doesnt last long that is true summer break should be 3 full months

I too have to clean out my son's bookbag it is still full of papers and I wish they too would allow 3 full months of summer its not enough for summer break what they give now
