There are two levels of giveaways.
First, the daily question. Post to the blog and you’re in the drawing for a SINGLE QUESTION psychic reading. All questions will be asked and answered on the blog, so be sure your query isn’t too personal for public posting. (Anyone needing more personal help is advised to visit Melissa’s website at APsychicHaven.com.) This segment of the contest will run Monday through Friday of the two week event.
Once you’ve won a SINGLE QUESTION psychic reading you are not eligible to win another SINGLE QUESTION reading. Please, no entering under different names or different email address. Winning a SINGLE QUESTION psychic reading does not affect your eligibility for the second contest.
The second level of giveaways is the books I’ll be giving away at the end of each week.

A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Because Melissa and I will be coordinating winners for the SINGLE QUESTION psychic readings, winners could be posted a day later than usual. For example, Wednesday’s winners—usually posted on Thursday—might be posted as late as Friday. Winners must then post their question and Melissa must answer. We will do our best to stay on top of things, but work and family schedules can hamper getting everything done within a strict twenty-four hour period. Don’t worry, we will post all winners and give away all prizes. While the contest ends September 11, we will wrap up those final winners and questions a couple days past the contest date. Melissa is a pro at blogging events, so I know you’ll all have a blast.

MELISSA DOES HAVE SEVERAL RULES FOR THE READINGS. THEY ARE:
1. Winners of the SINGLE QUESTION psychic reading must submit a SPECIFIC question – not a broad generalized question.
2. Melissa will not read others without their permission. If you want to know something about your significant other – she will not read that for you because in order to answer she’d have to read him/her.
3. Melissa doesn’t read anyone under the age of 18 - even if they’re your children.
4. Melissa doesn’t do medical/health related readings.
Remember, the SINGLE QUESTION giveaways are for the Monday through Fridays of these two weeks. No SINGLE QUESTION giveaways will be offered for Saturday and Sunday. Oh yeah - I said it! LOL I know it so I admit it.
I wanted to let everyone know that Thursday I'll check here before I take the kids to school and then again sometime in the afternoon. Good morning everyone! I thought I'd post now before I have to go to the farm. I hope everyone has a great time over the next couple of weeks while we talk about everything from publishing to the paranormal. I write psychic fiction and paranormal romantic suspense so I can talk about how I do that in relation to being a clairvoyant advisor too. Feel free to ASK QUESTIONS. I really like an "open forum" feel to the workshops and guest blogging events that I do. So settle in and let's talk!

Hi Jordan,
Thanks for both questions. We'll enter you into the daily drawing for the psychic question. To answer the paranormal question I've listed each separately below.
A spirit guide is an entity that is not on this plane of existance, they reside on the other side, and they have agreed to help us by guiding us during this lifetime. Sometimes it's to balance karma and other times it's just because they care for us and want to help. Other times it's because they've been our guides for a LONG time and continue to help us. Other spirit guides come in and out of our lives as we need them and we also have some that have been with us since birth.
A ghost is a person who has lived on the Earth plane before but who has, for whatever reason, not gone to the other side after death. Sometimes they're stuck here because they don't know they're dead. Other times they just can't bring themselves to leave those they've left behind. And still other times they may have died so tragically and violently that they're stuck here because of that.
I hope this helps explain the difference.

Can animals see spirits, and do they see them every day as a normal part of their life?

Yes, they can and they do notice if spirit is around. There have been plenty of times that my dogs have freaked out over nothing but yet they seem to be watching something moving around a room. When I first met my spirit guide, Cassandra, my friend's cat was in the room and she sensed her. She would just sit and star at one section of the room and purr deeply. But then my friend got on the board (this was the first and only time I've used a Ouija board. I haven't used it sense becuase Cassandra told me not to and I listened to her.) and when she'd been on it for a few minutes a spirit came through that had negative energy. The cat FREAKED out - she started hissing and squalling at a corner of the room while still laying on the bed. Then suddenly she screamed (that's the only way to put it because that's what it sounded like) and BOLTED out of the room. So, it's my opinion that they do see spirit.

Wow, I have heard bad things about Ouija boards. I dabbled with them as a teenager but was told by my mother not to EVER use one. So to this day I haven't. I was wondering how someone gets in touch with their spirit guide. Becuase from what I can gather everyone has one, and has since birth. Is that correct? I apologize for just jumping in here now, I just heard about the event!!!

I personally don't like them. I think they allow lower level entities to attach to you. I tell my kids exactly the same thing. I'm glad you jumped in! It's great to have you here.
I've only used a board once and that was when I met my life spirit guide, Cassandra - it was the only way she could get me to listen to her - and she was the only spirit that came through when I touched the board. My friends continued to use it and had horrific experiences with lower entities afterwards. I don't recommend them, I think they're dangerous and most people will disagree with me on that but I honestly don't care.
Yes, everyone has guides. You usually have one or two that have been with you since birth and others who come and go depending on the situations in your life. You get in touch with your guide by listening to that inner voice, noticing smells and paying attention to your own intuition. Sometimes they'll give us thoughts to help us. With me I get it a lot in the kitchen "Watch that glass before it falls", "Don't pick up that knife yet", and if I listen I usually don't break the glass or cut myself. If I don't - well I'm cleaning up a mess and bleeding. LOL. I think Sylvia Browne has a book out about contacting your spirit guides. I haven't read it yet but it may be something you'd like to check into.
In the meantime. Let' me give you a head's up. You have three spirit guides around you that I sense right now. One is coming forward to speak. Her name is Leandra and she's with you to help you with family. She says your family is growing and you may be asked to be more involved. She'll help you with that. She's also with you to - oh I'm seeing some kind of knitting or a hobbie that you may be learning - she'll be around for that because she thinks its a very cool hobbie and would like to do it too. She's funny. She's mischievious. She helps you find things too - it's not fairies she says - it's her.

Wow, thanks so much for the name of my spirit guide, that is so exciting to know! So she sees my family growing? hmmm, that could prove interesting. Knitting huh? My mom is a fabulous knitter but me- uh, not so much!!! lol, but I do enjoy scrapbooking- ha ha, could it be that!!! Or maybe my writing that I seem to falter with, could she be here to push me into letting go of my insecurities and jumping right in?? She's funny and mischeivious, what more could I ask for??? How do you reconcile the concept of past lives with present for your teaching? Should you know of your past lives and guides to assist in your current path, or are we better to create a whole new journey and life lesson?

Well, I think that you don't have to know about them to help with current life lessons but in the cases of fears etc that sometimes they can help release those fears if you know the root cause. Each lifetime has it's own unique lessons and lessons that may not have been learned in the past life.

Hi Linda,
Yes, those dreams are you remembering past lifes and it's a great place to start. Another thing you can do is to think about what you're good at and what you "know" that you shouldn't know. For example - I've never been to medical school. I'm not a doctor but I just seem to know what is wrong and usually I'm right. This has nothing to do with clairvoyance either. I've stitched up my husband's head when he refused to go to the doctor, correctly diagnoised appendicitis, kidney stones, measles and other things. It's almost like I've "been there, done that". That's not to say that I don't use the services of professional doctors - I do. Another way is to look at things you fear. Usually fears are rooted in past lives especially if there isn't a reason for the fear in this lifetime.

I have a question for you about orbs. Why is it in some pictures they're just balls of light, but in others you can see faces quite clearly? (We have some from a charity hockey game for cancer where there's at least 3 clear faces visible.)

I think this happens because the spirit's energy is stronger or it could be because they've recently passed. That's just my opinion though. That's very cool about the picture yoiu have.
