We've talked a lot about psychic and paranormal phenomena. What about miracles? I'm not talking about the Red Sea parting or mountains moving, but every day miracles. Meeting the right person at the right time for exactly what you need, or getting that extra job just when you need to pay that $1000 oil bill--lord, do I know that one!

How about that visit from a loved one who has passed, or the voice that whispers "god is here," at the last place you would expect to find the divine? I've seen miracles in my life that just blow my mind.

What sort of miracles have occurred in your life?

The night we had to put my beloved dog down I had him sit on my bed and bark three times, I think it was his way of letting me know he was okay.

You're right those little things do mean alot. Even with having gone through masses removed, just knowing I had one at one time and they went to do further test a month later and it was gone! I felt like it was telling me I needed a break from this and it gave it to me! I treasured it then and try not to think every time will be a miracle but it was that time!

Sorry to hear that, Caffey. I had cysts last year--first time... And I thought I had cancer. My personality type is most responsible; so I sat around terrified for 2 weeks. My daughter was 2. But I learned I had Fibrocystic Breast, not cancer. Still, the fear I experienced was so horrible that I cringed just reading your post. I completely understand what you went through and hope you never have to go through that again. Next month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You'll see a few of us authors pulling together to have a contest, prizes, and invaluable information for everyone who stops by. Tarah, aren't you in that contest?

Well, my mother had a long illness (emphysema compounded by asthma) and deteriotated over several years. We kept her at home and had all sorts of medical gear for her. The lack of O2 and increase of CO2 in her blood was like a poison and slowly caused more & more damage. During the last year her brain was greatly damaged by this to the point she wasn't lucid or herself. For the most part my mom was gone and we hadn't been able to communicate with her. The night she passed I was sitting up with her since I knew something would happen soon. She opened her eyes and told me she loved me and thanked me for everything as well as the rest of the family. Shortly after this she passed away. This was the 1st time she had been awake and spoken in months and she was able to speak to me just before her suffering ended.

I also believe in miracles. The first miracle I saw was when my younger brother was born with a rare tumor. At that time he was only the third case in the world, and no others had survived. This tumor bled internally and no matter what the doctors at Johns Hopkins did, it didn't work. They tried everything- chemo, radiation, even considered amputation (the tumor was in his arm, stretching to his wrist and down his back) of his arm, but his platelet counts were so low he would have bled to death. They didn't know what else to do. After a year of blood and platelet transfusions they finally told us to take him home. From the day we did, we started to notice bits of the tumor breaking away- Today he is a healthy, happy 28 yr old. He is a true miracle of nature!

How wonderful that you were open to what was happening with your mother--and acted upon that sense! The sense of peace that comes with an experience like that is something that remains with a person for their lifetime. There's nothing better than that.

Hi! I'm so tired from packing to evacuate just in case Ike heads this way that I can't think of anything to post other than: the other day I was driving toward the entrance to Walmart from a dead stop, no more than 25 miles an hour when I slammed on my breaks and a huge pickup truck (this is Texas) just rolled out of the parking lot from the entrance a few feet next to my turn. He must not have seen me in my shiny copper car. I stood on my break, clutched the steering wheel, and didn't breathe. Somehow, the car stopped a fraction from the truck. I don't even know if the driver saw me after the noisy stop. I just sat there watching the truck drive past me without scratching my car. Everyone else sat there watching too! This isn't deep. But it's shocking. And has to be miraculous... without voices. Skhye

What wonderful examples. I've had two that came at the time I really needed them. First was just after Hurricane Katrina, my niece works for Marriott hotels and was in New Orleans. We hadn't heard from her in a few days. I was a wreck. One night I felt this hand on my shoulder and an image of my great grandmother came into my mind and she said, "don't worry, she's fine."
Next day I recevied an email from my oldest neice that she had heard from her sister and she was in Texas.
The second as last year while having a colonoscopy, You have to realize that I lost both my mom and my dad's younger sister to colon cancer. Last year I was at the age my aunt had died and I was nervous. Laying there waiting for the procedure to begin, suddenly I felt both my mother and my aunt there, whispering I would be ok. The test was fine.

Elaine, you gave me chills! I don't hear anything but my inner critic. And the cat howling at the back door because she's too lazy to go around the house and use the cat door!
